The ChIPs Women in IP Global Summit 2015, Tenth Anniversary Celebration
October 27-28, 2015
Mandarin Oriental
Washington, DC

Summit Description

The ChIPs Women in IP Global Summit 2015, Tenth Anniversary Celebration, will be held on October 27-28 at the Mandarin Oriental in Washington, D.C.

Past Summits have been sold-out events, bringing together hundreds of women from a wide array of backgrounds, including private and public corporations, academia, law firms, judiciary, governmental agencies and institutions, and public interest, to engage in dialogue on cutting edge issues relating to intellectual property and to build relationships with one another. View last year’s agenda and speaker list.

The ChIPs co-founders, board and planning committee members each participate in a volunteer capacity in addition to our day jobs, but it is feedback like this that keeps us going:

“The summit inspired and rejuvenated lawyers at all levels.”

“The energy at the conference was so positive, engaging, open, receptive, caring and energizing (!) that it felt like I was surrounded by an amazing village.”

“I just wanted to let you know that last week’s conference was by far the best conference I have attended. Great panels, great insight and fabulous advice.”

“Thank you for this gift that I will keep with me forever.”

This year’s Summit celebrates ChIPs’ tenth anniversary and will be held at the Mandarin Oriental in Washington, D.C. The full-day Summit will take place on October 28th and includes substantive speakers and panel discussions on unconscious bias, women leaders in the law, patent reform, tech trends and CEOs. Limited capacity, invitation-only pre-Summit sessions will take place on October 27th.

Panel & Discussion: Women Lawyers on Boards
In 2014, women occupied less than 18% of boardroom seats of Fortune 1000 companies, and 11% of those companies still do not have any women on their boards at all. With effort, these numbers are growing, and so is the influence of women board directors. Hear firsthand about the experiences of women lawyer panelists who serve on the boards of public companies and follow their discussion of the contributions women board members and directors are making, how they achieved their positions, and what steps you can take to position yourself for a role on a board.
Panelists: Mary Cranston, Pamela Craven, Louise Pentland, Erika Rottenberg
Moderator: Hillary A. Sale
