Karen Shelton is Chief Intellectual Property Counsel at Acuity Brands Lighting. Ms. Shelton’s practice focuses primarily on providing counsel in the areas of product development, technology transactions, and marketing. Prior to joining National Service Industries, which was the predecessor to Acuity, she was Associate Counsel at Dun & Bradstreet Software. Ms. Shelton started her career at Kilpatrick & Cody (now Kilpatrick, Stockton & Townsend). She received her BA, with high distinction from the University of Virginia and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Ms. Shelton received her JD, with honors, from Duke University School of Law. She is a volunteer mentor with the Emory Start:Me Entrepenuership Program.
