ChIPs Network

We are thrilled to officially announce that “Women in IP” have joined forces with “ChIPs,” a nationwide organization dedicated to advancing women at the confluence of law, technology, and regulatory policy. With this founding of the Indianapolis ChIPs Chapter, we have the opportunity to make more meaningful connections here in Indiana, as well as to tap into a nationwide organization that shares our commitment to women’s advancement in intellectual property careers.

As the nationwide organization ChIPs launches a local chapter, Barnes & Thornburg is pleased to sponsor its kick-off event, a lively panel discussion among several accomplished “Chiefs in Intellectual Property.” Join us for cocktails and networking opportunities with other local women whose careers and interests involve the intersection of technology, law and policy.

Event Panelists

  • Marie Kerbeshian, Vice President of Technology Commercialization at Indiana University Research and Technology Corporation.
  • Toni Hickey, Deputy General Counsel and Chief IP Counsel at Cummins Inc.
  • Tonya Combs, General Counsel at Lilly Oncology and Assistant General Counsel at Eli Lilly and Company.

As the Indianapolis chapter of ChIPs launches into its first year, its leaders will create a calendar of engagement opportunities for women in intellectual property, including events focused on professional development and networking. The chapter will also undertake at least one community outreach activity and a “next gen” event for younger ChIPs members or prospective members.
