ChIPs, the international organization of women in tech, law, intellectual property and policy, has a new chapter on a new continent — Australia and New Zealand.
The new Chapter — which already has more than 125 members — will hold its inaugural event Friday, September 16, 2022, from 12.30 to 2.30 pm AEST in Melbourne. (Save the date.) The event coincides with the annual Intellectual Property Society of ANZ Conference, September 16-18 at the Park Hyatt, Melbourne. The two-hour event will feature Professor Veena Sahajwalla, a leading expert in the field of recycling science, and founding Director of the Centre for Sustainable Materials Research & Technology at the University of New South Wales.
“We are honored to welcome ChIPs Australia and New Zealand to our global community of more than 4,300 members,” said Executive Director Joan Toth. “Their launch proves that wherever innovation and women come together, ChIPs is there.”
The Chapter’s co-chairs are Ronelle Geldenhuys, Principal, at Foundry Intellectual Property, and Anna Vandervliet, Senior Associate Intellectual Property.
“We are thrilled to create a space for professional women to get together, feel heard, and share stories. We have all had experiences as women and here we can come together to connect,” Vandervliet said. Geldenhuys said, “Our chapter spans a vast area, so it’s perfect we are able to collaborate with IPSANZ for this ChIPs event,”
