ChIPs Mock Program enlists the best and brightest associates across the world for an annual event that allows them to show their skill and sharpen their weaknesses. On May 18, 2023, participants will test their ability to pitch to clients seeking representation in the ever-growing legal issues surrounding artificial intelligence.

Each year, the Mock Programs Committee presents hypothetical scenarios that tackle critical legal issues faced by practitioners in tech and IP law. Using accompanying resources, participants will evaluate the facts and determine the best way to move forward for what could be a potential client. In-house counsel from across the tech and IP law profession will participate as mentors to associate teams and provide invaluable insights as to what challenges participants can expect in a real-life experience and suggestions to improve performance.

All these components come together with one goal in mind: perfecting your pitch. While the mock scenario is fictional, the skills participants gain are invaluable.

“I think it’s a very useful exercise,” said Veronica Manning of McKool Smith, who participated in the 2022 program. “I’m very appreciative.”
