SAN FRANCISCO (AUGUST 2, 2019) – ChIPs, a nonprofit organization focused on advancing women in technology, law and policy, announced today Stephanie Burns has joined the Board of Directors. Ms. Burns is Vice President and General Counsel at StubHub, the world’s most trusted ticket marketplace with tickets available for over 10 million live sports, music and theater events in more than 40 countries, and an eBay company.
Ms. Burns brings a wealth of experience to the board – she has more than 20 years of experience in tech and eCommerce, including in private practice, the software industry and most recently at Amazon, where she spent nearly 15 years prior to joining StubHub. At Amazon, Ms. Burns was the Vice President and Associate General Counsel for Worldwide Operations, where she led a team of lawyers and legal professionals supporting Amazon’s customer fulfillment, drone delivery, robotics, Prime Now and product and social responsibility.

Ms. Burns has a history of supporting ChIPs’ mission and serving as the co-chair of the ChIPs Pacific Northwest Chapter.

Ms. Burns fills a vacant board position left by ChIPs Co-founder Mona Sabet, who after 14 years of service, is moving to Board Director Emeritus status. ChIPs is deeply appreciative of Ms. Sabet’s service as Board Director and Treasurer and to her efforts towards advancing the organization and mission. Ms. Sabet is a founding member of ChIPs and has been one of the forces behind the organization’s growth.
