ChIPs Welcomes Nonprofit Communications Pro

ChIPs has a new communications lead effective January 23, 2023. Omote Ekwotafia-Thelin is a member of the California Bar and the former marketing and communications director for Young Audiences of Louisiana, where she has worked since 2016.

“We are delighted to have a communications lead with Mo’s skills, passion and experience,” said Joan Toth, ChIPs executive director. “She is going to take our stakeholder communications and content marketing to the next level.”

Based in New Orleans, Ekwotafia-Thelin is a dedicated storyteller, musician and lawyer with nearly ten years of nonprofit experience in writing, graphic design and branding. She started her professional career as an intern for Florida Today. She earned her B.A. in Communications and Writing from the University of Tampa and a Juris Doctor from Southwestern Law.

“I am dedicated to helping others and improving the world around me, so ChIPs is a perfect fit for me.” She lives in New Orleans and is “a proud mother to two girls, a dog and a cat.” She enjoys songwriting, cooking and spending time outdoors.
