  • Laurie Stempler, Special Counsel - Sullivan & Cromwell LLP
    Laurie Stempler is Special Counsel in Sullivan & Cromwell’s Litigation Group. Her practice focuses on intellectual property issues and, in particular, patent matters. Ms. Stempler has represented clients in both offensive and defensive litigation involving patents, copyrights, trademarks, and trade secrets. Her caseload has spanned a wide variety of technologies, including computer architecture, semiconductors, web applications, medical devices and diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, robotics and automation, materials science, and mobile phone hardware and software. She has extensive experience managing all aspects of litigation, from pre-suit diligence to trial and settlement negotiations. She has also advised clients on developing and licensing patent portfolios. In addition to the work she has done in the IP field, Laurie has also had the honor of representing U.S. veterans as a volunteer lawyer for the Veterans Consortium Pro Bono Program. Laurie’s decision to pursue a career in intellectual property stemmed from her love of learning how things work. Today, she is happy to mentor students and associates with similar interests.
  • Ceyda Maisami, Chief IP Counsel - HP
    Ceyda Maisami is the Chief Intellectual Property Counsel at HP, guiding the company’s global intellectual property strategy. She leads a team of professionals adept in managing a comprehensive range of IP matters, including patents, trade secrets, trademarks, copyrights, and marketing, as well as overseeing IP transactions. Her team’s expertise also encompasses support for litigation, mergers and acquisitions, and other corporate transactional issues. Previously, Ceyda worked on high profile patent prosecution and litigation matters at Finnegan and Chadbourne & Parke. Her career began in the technical field as an electrical engineer at Osram Sylvania/ Siemens, providing her with a strong foundation for an in-house intellectual property law role.
  • Gael Tisack, Chief IP Counsel, Divisional Vice President & Associate General Counsel - Abbott Laboratories
    GAEL DIANE TISACK is the Chief IP Counsel, Divisional Vice President and Associate General Counsel for Abbott Laboratories, a Fortune 100 global leader in medical devices, diagnostics and nutrition. She leads a worldwide team with over 46,000 patents. She was previously the Global Head of Intellectual Property for Olympus Corporation, managing a patent portfolio of over 25,000 patents and an IP staff of nearly 200 around the globe. Prior to joining Olympus in 2018 Gael founded and led the Technology Transfer Office at Wichita State University. Before WSU she was at Terumo Cardiovascular Systems for nearly 13 years where she started as a patent attorney and worked her way to be the Senior Vice President and General Counsel. She was an Associate Attorney at Brinks, Gilson & Lione (now Crowell & Moring) after law school. Gael graduated, cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School and is a registered Patent Attorney before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. She is a frequent guest lecturer at several universities including Georgetown Law School, the University of Michigan, the University of Maryland and Wichita State University. Gael has been named an IP Star by Managing IP multiple times and won the Women Leaders in Life Sciences Empowerment Award in 2016 She holds a B.S. and M.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan and was an engineer and manager at Ford Motor Company for 11 years where she was awarded a patent for a shielded circuit module.
  • Sri Atluri, Chief IP Counsel - Walmart Inc.
    Sri Atluri leads the Intellectual Property Center of Expertise at Walmart. Her team manages Walmart’s global trademark and patent portfolios, assists with IP transactions, advises with respect to IP issues around AI and GenAI, and generally looks to mitigate IP risk across the company. Before joining Walmart, Sri was Director and Associate General Counsel of Patents at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, managing a team of patent attorneys in developing and deploying patent strategy across HPE’s businesses. She is also an experienced IP litigator, having previously held the role of senior litigation counsel at HPE, overseeing district court and ITC actions, appeals before the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and post-grant proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). In addition, Sri held the role of IP strategy counsel at HPE, managing several patent portfolios. Prior to moving in-house, Sri was a senior associate at Paul Hastings LLP where she helped begin the firm’s Patent Office Practice group, focusing on post-grant proceedings before the PTAB. She also spent several years as an associate at Finnegan Henderson LLP. Her practice at Finnegan involved a wide variety of patent litigation in various forums. Sri has a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is passionate about advancing women in tech and law. She is Treasurer of the Greater Philadelphia Area Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel and is a co-founder of the Philadelphia Chapter of ChIPs.
  • Erika Singleton, Vice President, Global Chief IP Counsel - Entegris Inc.
    Erika Singleton is the Vice President and Global Chief IP Counsel for Entegris Inc. Entegris is a leading supplier of mission-critical advanced materials and process solutions for the semiconductor and other high-technology industries. Singleton is responsible for the worldwide capture, protection, and commercialization of Entegris’ intellectual property, as well as defining and promoting the best strategic IP practices and processes for the company. Singleton is a part of the executive leadership for Entegris. Over her 25-year career, Singleton has worked with companies in various industries across the global manufacturing arena, including ExxonMobil, Pfizer, and Honeywell. Prior to Entegris, she served as Global Chief IP Counsel for CMC Materials Inc. In her community, Singleton is active in the New Orleans Jack and Jill of America Chapter and a Life Member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She is passionate about STEAM programs for the youth and is instrumental in exposing minorities to the semiconductor industry as a career option. Singleton received her Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Tuskegee University and her J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School.
