On Tuesday, Nov. 28, the Silicon Valley ChIPs chapter turned up the holiday hits, decked the halls of Shearman & Sterling LLP, and hosted this year’s Holiday Shopping Party. Dozens of tech & law professionals found a great opportunity to excuse themselves from the office grind and attend. Guests “shopped around” at vendor tables representing local female entrepreneurs open-air-market style. Vendors included chocolatiers, jewelers, authors, beauticians, luxury goods purveyors, and eyeglass designers. Free headshots were taken by world-renowned photographer Asa Mathat, who also offered a crowd-pleasing tutorial on how to pose for full-body pictures. One IP lawyer was overheard raving the food was “the tastiest catered food I’ve had in the Bay Area.” All in all this was a cheery start to the holiday for guests.
