Event Terms of Use

These Event Terms and Conditions (the “Event Terms”) apply to all events and programs (in person or virtual) hosted or presented by the ChIPs (“Events”). As a condition of registration and participation, attendees, sponsors, volunteers, speakers, organizers, venue staff, media, exhibitors, vendors and other guests (“Participant,” or “you”) are acknowledge and accept these Event Terms. Participants are  expected to be respectful to other Participants, event staff and contractors, and to abide by the ChIPs Code of Conduct. ChIPs reserves the right to change these and any Event Terms anytime with the purpose of creating an enjoyable attendee experience. Such changes will be effective immediately upon publication or posting.

 

 

Media and Publicity

Unless specifically noted, ChIPs events and programs (in person and virtual) are considered public. Participants may be photographed, videotaped or otherwise recorded or transcribed, and such materials may be shared and posted by members of the media, fellow attendees, and ChIPs or its agents. By participating in ChIPs events, you grant ChIPs the right to record and use your likeness for informational and event marketing purposes. You waive the right to inspect or approve any such materials, and release ChIPs and its agents from any liabilities arising out of their use. Discretion is advised when sharing information of a proprietary or confidential nature at ChIPs events.

 

Hold Harmless

You agree to release, defend, indemnify, and hold harmless event staff from any and all claims, demands, and causes of action arising out of or relating to your participation in ChIPs Events and use of any associated facilities or hotels.

 

Personal Data Privacy

ChIPs does not share personal identifiable data about attendees with sponsors or other attendees.  If you choose to share information in the course of your event participation, your information will be subject to the respective privacy statements of the partner or member. How ChIPs will use your personal data: We ask for a variety of demographic information during the registration process. The data collected is used strictly for attendance reporting and personal identifiable information is not shared. We also may use your contact information to send important updates related to the mission of ChIPs or ChIPs Events. If there is not an opt out link included in the email, simply send an email to info@chipsnetwork.org to inform us of your decision to opt-out.

 

Event Cancellation

ChIPs has no liability on account of any loss or damage resulting from any delay, failure, or cancellation with respect to ChIPs Events if such delay or failure is caused, in whole or in part, by acts of God, strikes, lockouts, riots, acts of war, earthquake, fire, explosions, or other events, occurrences or causes beyond the control of ChIPs (a “Force Majeure Event”). If ChIPs should have to cancel an Event for a reason other than a Force Majeure Event, registration fees processed will be refunded to registrants. Registrants will be responsible for cancellation of travel arrangements or housing reservations and the associated fees.
