  • ChIPs Colorado will host a joint networking event with the Colorado IP American Inn of Court. The networking reception will be followed by a CLE on Trade Dress, presented by the Colorado IP American Inn of Court.  Please join us for this in-person gathering to meet with members of the Colorado IP community, learn about vital trade dress issues, and gain CLE credit.

    Functionality in Product Trade Dress and Design Patents, Same Word, Different Results

    DESCRIPTION
    Both product trade dress and design patents can be invalidated/refused for functionality, but the concept works quite differently in the two types of protection.  We will explore what makes a valid product trade dress and what makes a valid design patent.
