The Hon. Michelle K. Lee served as the Undersecretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office from 2015 to 2017. She was inducted into the ChIPs Hall of Fame on October 17, 2017. Lee blazed a trail from Silicon Valley to Washington, when she became the first woman to hold the PTO director position. “Michelle, in my opinion, is a force to be reckoned with,” ChIPs co-founder Julie Mar-Spinola said during the induction ceremony. “She’s accomplished. She’s articulate. She’s strong-minded. She’s focused.”
